Miss UK3Lions 2014/2015 - Jess Watts

Hi everyone – I’m Jess Watts and I am very proud and honoured to of been selected as Miss UK3Lions 2014.  I am currently completing my Jet2 Cabin Crew Training and will be up in the sky flying with them as of May 2014. I live in the West Midlands and my family roots lie firmly in Swansea, South Wales which I have been very proud to represent recently as Miss Teen Galaxy Wales 2013.

I have been competing in beauty pageants for a number of years – starting in a local carnival competition back in 2006.  Pageants have allowed me access to many experiences and opportunities.  I have been Young Ambassador to our local Mayor now for 3 consecutive years – year one saw me play a very active part in the Mayors fundraising efforts for his selected charities raising over £43,000.  I was 2013 Young Citizen of the Year in recognition of my work within the local community and my fundraising efforts.  I was awarded Inspiring Others award by the West Midlands High Sheriff 2013, won Community Spirit Award 2014 and have just been chosen to receive A Prestigious International Award  2014 for my service to humanity.  I thoroughly enjoy promoting a positive image to teenagers and young people.  Fundraising and raising awareness for charities has been an important role for me too.  I also actively stage my own charity events in aid of British Heart Foundation – after my Dad suffered two totally unexpected heart attacks and received such wonderful treatment and support from BHF.   Miss Charity Heart was as the name suggests a charity pageant and I managed to raise over £3,000 from entry fees, raffle, contestants fundraising, donations etc.  I also staged Ramp Up In Red Pageant Themed Party in February this year – a fabulous fun entertainment night and again rose just over £2000.

My biggest pageant achievement to date is winning Miss Teen Galaxy Wales 2013 and representing Wales in America in July 2013.  Also now being given the chance to become an ambassador and figure head as Miss UK3Lions 2014 is a role I intend actively embracing and promoting.

As for my personal ambition – simply to be happy and enjoy everything I do.  Live with no regrets – take opportunities that come my way – and build on life experiences which in turn will help me become a better more knowledgeable person and continue to help and support others and charities wherever and whenever possible.
